DBC places the highest value on employee safety and has adopted the belief that all injuries can, and must be prevented. Our Safety Goal is Zero Injuries (whether OSHA recordable or not) and we have developed and implemented a Corporate-wide Safety Program to help us achieve that objective.

The DBC Safety Program has been reviewed and accepted by our most demanding industrial customers, and remains a dynamic document in a state of continuous improvement.

DBC’s Safety Program has achieved Zero Injury Performance in both its Pipe Fabrication and Sheet Metal Fabrication Divisions for over 3 years, and we have completed many field industrial and commercial projects with Zero Injuries.

These accomplishments would not have been possible without top management commitment, strong supervisory and employee support, accountability, the development of a Zero Injury Safety Culture, and implementation of a practical, well designed Safety Program.

Safety Performance Accomplishments Include:

• A Bureau of Labor Statistics OSHA Total Recordable Case Incidence Rate average of 1.58 for the year 2006, far below the Bureau of Labor Statistics construction industry average of 7.2 for our SIC code (201710).

• Reduced Workers Compensation Experience Modification Factor to an average of 0.63 for past 9 years and 0.55 for 2007

• A zero lost time injury rate for last 6 years (Over 2 Million Man Hours).

• DBC pipe and sheet metal fabrication shops have completed over 3 years with zero injuries.

• Received the AGC Excellence in Safety and Claims Management Top 10 Award for 2006 (Out of 274 AGC Safety Team Members)

•  DBC won 2nd place nationally in the Mechanical Contractors Association of America 2006 Safety Excellence Awards program in the 250,000 to 400,000 man hour category.

• Re-qualified for AGC Safety Team membership for 6th consecutive year.

• DBC has continued to meet stringent annual re-certification criteria for admission to the AGC’s Group Workers Compensation Retrospective Rating Plan.
