Description
DBC
was awarded the civil/structural contract for construction
of this new operating unit. The work included forming
and pouring 650 cubic yards of concrete, 97 auger cast pilings
to depth of 50 feet, erection of 170 tons of structural
steel, fire proofing, vessel erection, piping and insulation.
The vessel erection required a 450 ton crane with tailing
crane and a detailed critical lift plan.

Challenges & Solutions
The
major vessels were delivered late requiring DBC to deviate
from the orignial plan and revise the sequence of activities
to facilitate Shell schedule.
