DIAMOND B CONSTRUCTORS' FABRICATION FACILITIES
DBC shop
facilities consist of a fully equipped, state-of-the-art
12,000 sq. ft. pipe shop and a 15,000 sq. ft. sheet metal
shop and warehouse, all built upon a fenced five-acre area
located in Bellingham.
We also retain qualified professionals
for sheet metal and structural steel fabrication, while
we subcontract machine work and most forms of non-destructive
examination. Sandblasting and painting are provided at our
Bellingham facility. The DBC shop operations are consolidated
under fabrication agreements with the United Association
of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters and the Sheet Metal Workers
International Association.
With the background and expertise
to perform within the parameters of the experience and facilities
described above, DBC assures all our clients quality workmanship
and timely completion of all projects.
DBC
was contracted in 2003 by Bechtel National, Inc. to fabricate
stainless steel pipe spools for the Waste Treatment Plant
at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. The DBC pipe fabrication
shop fabricated over 100,000 linear feet of pipe into more
than 6,000 pipe spools in both 304 and 316 stainless steels
and diameters ranging from ½” to 10”. These spools included
compound bends, valves and precise welding, all in accordance
with the DOE's "verbatim compliance" contract. Quality control
requirements included 100% traceability for all components,
and Positive Material Identification (PMI) on a significant
percentage of the work. PMI provides a quantitative chemical
analysis of each alloy. Material Certifications from component
suppliers and PMI chemical analysis confirmation documentation
was required to accompany each spool shipped.
This
is the kind of performance that underscores our pride and
explains why we are considered by many as the best in the
Pacific Northwest.
